This page lists various ways of getting help and support in ENGI 1020.
Instructors
You can contact the course instructor, Dr Anderson, at [email protected] (note: please use this "real" email address rather than Brightspace). The lab instructor, Alice Faisal, can be reached at [email protected].
Office hours
Dr Anderson will hold office hours on Wednesdays at 4pm throughout the term. You can use this time to chat about the course, the lecture material, the assignments, or anything else you like. Office hours are held, er, in his office (CSF-4123). If for some reason he can’t be there, he’ll post a cancellation notice on the course website.
EO Student Success Centre
All students registered in the Engineering One courses this semester will have access to the EO Student Success Centre (room EN3076). Tutors (third- and fourth-year undergraduate students) will provide one-on-one assistance on questions related to assignments, midterm review, and final exam review. Tutors will help with MATH, PHYS, CHEM, and ENGI courses.
Supplemental Instruction
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is meant to shape your minds into critical thinkers. During the sessions, the SI Leader (who is an undergraduate student) will not be a tutor, teacher of new materials, or re-stater of recent lecture material. The SI Leader will develop problem solving and review sessions where students actively solve problems, discuss and work in groups, and reflect. The main focus of the sessions is to understand better the concepts taught in the lectures. All students registered in ENGI 1010 and ENGI 1020 courses this semester will have access to the Supplemental Instruction Program. SI Leaders will conduct SI sessions where you can work alongside your peers on problems which help you understand better the concepts taught in the previous course lectures. SI sessions will be held:
