How to access LabNet resources, including both computers and file storage.

LabNet is a network of general-use computing infrastructure available across campus. We rely on LabNet during our lab slots, but you can use LabNet at any time of the day (or night!) to finish your lab work or just to play with your Arduino kit (at least using the Ubuntu Linux LabNet image). LabNet computers are accessible:

On campus

This includes computer labs that can run both Linux and Windows; these computers are available in labs in the Core Science Facility (CSF-2112), the S. J. Carew building (EN-3000/3029 as well as the Engineering One Student Success Centre) and other locations such as The Commons in the QEII Library.

Off campus

You can access the Windows version of LabNet from off campus using Remote LabNet. From that image, you should be able to access the same home directory as on Linux: your home directory will appear in Windows as the "H:" drive.

Your own computer

You can access the files in your LabNet home directory from your own computer, whether you’re on campus or off campus. There are instructions of how to do this posted to the Engineering Computing Services page, also reproduced here. You can read instructions for Mac or Windows, or watch this video:
